Electrical Design Engineer - Oxfordshire - c£35K-£40K plus benefits

As a technology business, our client has an immediate plan to take their manufacturing equipment to the next level, improving performance and efficiency. It is essential that these machines, and accessories are developed to the highest standard to ensure they can be seamlessly transferred to the manufacturing team and customer sites.


The Electrical Design Engineer will be a key player in the design and development of machine accessories and retro-fits, for both current and new equipment and automation. They will also be highly involved in identifying and solving problems related to production processes, equipment, and manufacturability.


The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and will ultimately ensure that their innovative technology is implemented and maintained efficiently and within the parameters defined. In addition, there will be development projects looking at re-designing the systems and trialling new hardware as the individual projects dictate.


Main Responsibilities

  • Works in conjunction with mechanical and automation engineering, and R&D in the development of current machines, and the design of new machines
  • Project manages with hands-on ownership of all aspects of prototype developments, from detailed design through to final validation
  • Ensure all prototypes are built to the correct/desired standard and are validated for use
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assisting the R&D, Service & Support and Manufacturing teams as and when required (time permitting)
  • Occasional travelling may be required for this post

Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electrical Design Engineering (preferred); other technical qualifications considered

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years in electrical design role
  • Strong Solidworks Electrical design capabilities; other design packages considered
  • The candidate needs excellent problem solving skills and must possess and be able to demonstrate a flair for creativity and innovation
  • ‘Cradle to grave’ development experience, with exposure to supplier sourcing, prototyping, design validation, mass production release
  • BOM creation and management
  • Must be able to work on their own initiative and demonstrate excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills, between multiple projects

You will be managing the delivery of complex AV projects, attending sites and design team meetings, and involving some travel.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Client Liaison, Planning, Technical Design Implementation and the Co-ordination & Management of Projects, ensuring financial targets are met.

CAD/CAM Engineer - Birmingham - c£20K-£25K plus benefits

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for translating customer data, drawings, specifications and other requirements into a package comprising electronic tooling and artworks suitable for PCB manufacture.


Skills / Qualifications / Experience Required
Candidates must have good technical knowledge regarding the manufacture of PCBs and a strong engineering background, it would be ideal if you had experience in using GENESIS 2000, INCAM CAD/CAM packages and PCP software on complex, non-routine frontend work, but other candidates with proven computer skills and experience in PCB production will be considered.

  • A relevant engineering qualification would be an advantage.
  • Good communication skills both written and oral to all levels including customer liaison.
  • Good method of organisational skills, along with good analytical, problem solving, planning and the ability to work un-supervised after a qualifying period.

Projects / Contracts Engineer - Borehamwood - c£32K-£34K plus benefits

An exciting position has arisen within our company for a Projects / Contracts Engineer.

The role is based within the Contracts Division as part of a hardworking team of Process Engineers. Reporting to the Contracts Division Manager you will manage projects from order to completion interacting and co-ordinating with sales, technical and commercial departments when required.


There will also be opportunity to attend site in order to ensure smooth operation of the projects with access to use of a temporary company car and mobile phone when required.


Remuneration is in the region of £32,000 - £34,000 per annum and the company operate a profit related bonus scheme which is designed to pay an additional amount of up to 5% of basic salary dependant on the overall performance of the Company.


There is also opportunity to be paid overtime at premium rates, which is usually required due to the Company workload which can boost earnings significantly.  Located in Borehamwood there are easy links to good train line and bus services plus easy access to the A1 and M25 motorways.

Laboratory Manager - Preston - c£35K plus benefits 

You will be required to ensure day to day smooth running of a test and calibration laboratory according to the business objectives and in conformity with QA standards and corporate policies and procedures


Main duties:

In conjunction with the Business Manager and other colleagues in Senior Management Team you will be required to provide sound day to day running of the laboratory.

  • Prepare and provide such reports as required by the senior management team or Directors to assess the performance of the business.

  • Management of a team of laboratory and administration staff including performance management, providing trainings and procedures guidance.

  • Ensure continued conformity with the requirements contained in ISO 9001 (BSI) and ISO 17025 (UKAS) through the procedures defined within Quality Manual.

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction /low complaint frequencies demonstrated using standard metrics from the ISO 9001 protocol.

  • Management of supply chain and as required assist in the creation of new efficient, reliable and functional internal processes ensuring that they are compatible with the financial and IT systems.

  • Provide technical expertise during onsite customer visits and meetings and actively support training events where needed.

  • Operate in compliance with corporate policies. Where these require modification or extension, work with others to generate new versions that maintain consistency across the business areas.

  • Contribute to the Company best practice and continuous improvement by bringing innovative and business developing ideas

  • Produce quotations based on customer needs, and management of client’s orders to dispatch & invoicing.

Key Skills and Knowledge required:

  • Degree in a mechanical engineering or related subject.

  • Experience in working to both ISO 9001 (BSI) and ISO 17025 (UKAS) quality standards ideally in a calibration laboratory with accreditation in the measurement fields of temperature, pressure or electrical.

Installation Engineer - Bristol - c£24K plus benefits

Working within the Installation Department you will be involved in ensuring customers receive exceptional service. This is a varied role and on occasions you may be required to work overtime. You will be based out of our clients Bristol site; however you will be expected to travel to customer sites on a regular basis.



  • Carry out mechanical installation of generating sets and associated equipment.
  • Install generator exhaust systems.
  • Install fuel transfer systems, including pipe and plastic double pipe work installation.
  • Carry out delivery inspections of gensets on site.
  • Liaise with customers on site to ensure customer requirements are satisfied.
  • Liaise with Project Manager and appropriate sales personnel to ensure the installation is carried out in compliance with the original specification and any additional works orders subsequently issued.
  • Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are kept tidy, this includes company vehicles.
