Travel Litigation Solicitor

You will play a vital role in supporting an expanding Travel Litigation department. The successful candidate will undertake a fee earning role with a focus on holiday illness claims, accidents abroad, including road traffic accidents, claims under the Package Travel Regulations, workplace accidents abroad, maritime and aviation cases, and group illness litigation.

You will have the ability to draft applications and pleadings as well as taking cases through to trial. You will also assist with the development of the case management system for Travel Litigation.

You will have excellent communication skills, in person, on the telephone and in writing and exceptional organisational skills to a very high standard. You will be committed and self-motivated and have excellent attention to detail.

Lawyer - Real Estate (Renewable Energy) - Glasgow - £Excellent

This is a fast paced role where the role holder will be client facing and involved in building and maintaining client relationships on an ongoing basis. The key aspect of the role will be to work as part of the team servicing renewable energy transactions as well as to provide support to the junior members of the team and the wider real estate department as and when required.

 

An interest in business development, networking and having an eager, pro-active and ambitious attitude are essential for this role.

 

CORE TASKS:

  • Advising on property aspects of purchase and sale of renewables developments including wind (onshore and offshore), solar and hydro, consented, under development and operational.
  • Carrying out due diligence exercises including working with London firms. Negotiating option agreements and leases for renewables developments, acting for developers and landowners.
  • Dealing with project financing deals for renewables schemes, acting for funders and borrowers.
  • Co-ordinating the property aspects of renewables transactions and liaising with other departments in the firm.

Our client is a highly regarded top 100 UK law firm who are seeking to recruit an additional Real Estate Associate due to continue success of the department.

 

This hire could proceed in either the South West or South East.

 

Reporting to a Key Partner and as part of a substantial Real Estate Group the successful candidate will work with the group of people in the Team delivering real estate services to clients operating in the leisure sector.

 

The Group includes a number of nationally rated individuals. Their property expertise embraces investment, portfolio management, finance, planning, construction, environmental, development and dispute resolution.

 

The role would encompass:
* Dealing with disposals and acquisitions of commercial property (freehold and leasehold), by way of individual property or part of a package of properties;
* Estate management work e.g grant of leases, tenancies, licences, assignments, under lettings, deeds of variation etc;
* Deeds queries, title reviews and property due diligence;
* Maintain and improve relations with existing clients and spot opportunities for business development and enhancement.

 

As the ideal candidate you will be a UK qualified solicitor (or overseas equivalent) with experience in commercial property and may have a minimum of 4 years PQE but this does not preclude someone with more qualified experience from applying for the role. Our Client is looking to recruit a solicitor into its restructuring and insolvency team.

 

The firm is happy to look at applicants from either a contentious, non-contentious or mixed background.  The role will handle the full range of restructuring work including, but not limited to, debt restructuring, liquidation and large scale administrations for a variety of different sectors.  Due to the nature of the work, a large firm background is preferred for this role but not essential.
